Our obsession with consumption is at an all-time high. Any recession woes seem to have faded into the mist and we’re back on the High Street and online flexing our spending muscle. Even in the highly anticipated John Lewis advert, though touted as ‘show someone you love them this Christmas’, the underlying message is clear – show your love with a gift.

Back to today’s challenge – it’s time to take a look around and see where you can clean the decks. Feng Shui expert Dana Claudat explains that clutter is not even a word in traditional Feng Shui but believes that, ‘Clutter is a modern condition, and it deserves its place in feng shui today because where clutter exists, energy cannot flow. Clutter is an obstacle.’
Even more, clutter and an accumulation of stuff will stop the flow of new energy and new things into your life.
