It starts off unassuming… Though we’ll have a taxi waiting for you when you step off the flight in Marrakech, when the driver turns off the main road to the dirt track you may even start to wonder what you’ve gotten yourself into.  But we kind of like it that way, keeping Tigmi as one of the worst kept secret retreat spaces in Marrakech.

Morocco is an amazing country of beautiful colours, sites and sounds.  While Marrakech itself has become more touristy over the past years, it is still possible to dig deep into the heart of the city and find that authentic experience.

Tigmi is a different story. Originally built as a home for a local judge, it was turned into a hotel in the 80s and expanded into yoga retreats in the last decade.  Though it is not a bespoke retreat space, it is perfectly designed to accommodate retreat groups. Part of what make it so special though is the authentic ethos of how the place was built and is run.  Set in a small Berber village, the locals were hired to help construct the hotel and are the heart and soul of the staff. Over the years we’ve gotten to know them which makes the Tigmi experience all the more like coming back to ‘Our Home’ which is the translation of the word Tigmi.

Our retreat home includes individually decorated, spacious rooms with the most comfortable beds around.  Rooms are equipped with heating, air conditioning and fireplaces for those cosy cooler nights. Shared rooms will have two double beds. There are endless courtyards and quiet spaces if you want some time away from the group or two pools (one heated, one not!) are the usual point for group gatherings in the day. There’s also an onsite hammam, with massage and beauty treatments that can be booked daily. Breakfast and lunch are served al fresco (weather permitting) and dinner in the beautifully decorated dining room. No detail is forgotten throughout the entire week, allowing you to sink into total relaxation.

Plan ahead now to join us for some (much needed!) winter sun in early March or an easing into winter week in October. The weather is usually always a treat – warm days (up to 30s!) with lots of sun and cooler evenings – particularly in winter when the in-room fireplaces are made much use of.

Weather permitting we practice on the open air yoga terrace, overlooking the Atlas mountains. If it’s too chilly (particularly in the evenings) then we have a purpose built yoga room with a partially glass roof, serene white walls and a welcoming fireplace.


Only 30 minutes from the heart of Marrakech, Hotel Tigmi was named a Top 12 Ethical Hideaway by Harper’s Bazaar, which described it as a ‘blissed-out haven that mixes style with substance’. The boutique hotel has become so synonymous with relaxation that clients now say they’re going to get Tigmified.

With views of an ancient Kasbah and the snow-capped mountains, you’ll feel miles away from it all while only 15 miles from Marrakech. Meandering courtyards reveal a variety of terraces, gardens of banana palms and bougainvillea and swimming pools (heated, if necessary!).

While there you can spend your days relaxing by the pool, being pampered in the hotel’s very own spa and hammam, exploring the local surrounds including the local village, ancient Kasbah or venturing towards the Atlas mountains. (The Tigmi team can arrange half or full day trips to the mountains.)
…Or mix things up with a visit to the busy UNESCO world heritage site of the Marrakech medina. Tigmi offers a complimentary free shuttle (three times each day) to the city daily where you can experience the magic of the medina. (The last shuttle bus drops you back off at Tigmi in time for our evening meal)

What's Included

Meals from dinner on Saturday till lunch on the following Saturday including:
Early morning tea/coffee before morning yoga
Morning yoga session (Sunday through Friday)- Hatha Flow yoga, dynamic but accessible for all levels
Morning runs (Sunday through Friday)
Full buffet breakfast of home-made juices, honey, yoghurts, pancakes, cheeses, locally made breads, fresh fruit and cereals (daily)
Light salad lunch buffet (daily)
Three course Moroccan dinner* (daily)
*meals are either vegetarian or with fish – full vegetarian and vegan, gluten-free available on advance request
Evening yoga session (Saturday through Friday) – Mixture of Yin, Restorative and Yoga Nidra sessions
Accommodation in a double/twin room (singles are available on request for a single supplement)
Three daily free shuttles to/from Marrakech (not on Sunday or public holidays)

Weather and Travel

In both the spring and autumn you can expect warm days and cooler evenings. It’s usually cooler in the spring than in the autumn – a perfect excuse to cosy up by the fire.
Marrakech airport is 3.5 hours from London. At posting time Skyscanner was showing 10+ options for return flights under £150 for the dates from London airports.
We can arrange transfers through Tigmi from Marrakesh Menara airport take about 20 mins in a taxi. We can arrange these for you for approximately £20 for a one way or £10 per person for two or more sharing.


Layers! Warm days and cool evenings are the norm.
Those of you who want to join us for our early morning runs will also want to pack warmer running gear. Dinners in the dining room are still a casual affair, so no need for anything too formal but most choose to change out of yoga gear into other casual wear. Bring sunscreen!

Yoga Styles & Teacher

Morning yoga is Hatha Flow, a warming and energising class to get the blood moving followed by a group meditation session.

Evening yoga is a mixture of yin, restorative, slow flow and yoga nidra sessions – designed to open and relax body and mind.

All sessions are accessible for beginner/intermediate. We don’t recommend this as a retreat for advanced practitioners.

Sessions include pranayama/breathing exercises.

If you would like additional tuition (one-to-one or to address specific needs) that is possible, please ask about this when booking.

Retreats are led by Jennifer Cordero, who started Pure Yoga Zone in 2011 after finishing her RYT200 level teacher training. She has been leading retreats at Tigmi for 5+ years and looks forward to welcoming you to the Tigmi family.

Ready to Book?

Your booking includes accommodation and all meals from Saturday evening to Saturday morning. Secure your space for just £750.00 per person, in a large, en-suite twin/double. This option is for two people booking together, sharing a room. We can try to arrange shared rooms on request but this is not guaranteed.

Single occupancy supplement: £250.00

Arrivals: after 2pm Saturday
Depart: Before 12pm Saturday (to vacate room, it is possible to stay on for lunch and a swim!)

Yoga Mats
There are quite a few on site at Tigmi so it is not necessary to bring your own but you are welcome to do so!

To Confirm your Spot:
1. Pay £250 deposit to secure your spot in an early booking discount and balance is due 2 months prior to departure. No reminder emails will be sent, so please make a note of when the balance payment is due.
2. Pay for trip in entirety.
NOTES: You **must** purchase your own travel insurance for this trip at time of booking. It is not included as part of the trip and is necessary to participate in the group activities.
